The rite of Christian initiation is designed for adults who seek to know about God and desire to enter the Christian faith.  This journey of faith is designed for adults who are

  • Not baptized
  • Baptized in another Christian denomination and desire to learn about and possibly join the Catholic Church
  • Baptized in the Catholic Church and are seeking the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist

Each candidate’s spiritual journey is unique and their time of preparation depends on their circumstances.  During preparation, the candidates are instructed in the Christian tradition, attend special retreats and participate in several rites.  Following preparation, unbaptized candidates receive Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at one celebration, usually the Easter Vigil.   Baptized candidates also receive Confirmation and Eucharist at the same time.

OLHOC offers RCIA class in English and Spanish.  The English language class is held on Wednesday evening from 7 – 9 PM.  The Spanish language class is held on Sunday evening from 5:30 – 7 PM.

Classes begin in late August or early September and can be viewed by accessing the links below.  New candidates are encouraged to join at any time during the year.  Please contact the parish office for more information.
